About Sheila Riley

Sheila Riley

I’ve been telling stories for as far back as I can remember and it is as natural as breathing.

However, writing books was not at the forefront when I left school and trained as a hairdresser, met my future husband, married, and had three wonderful children, continuing my hairdressing career as they grew. However, the urge to write never left me. Although it was only when my kids flew the nest, and I found a local writer’s workshop, I had the time to indulge in my writing. I then joined the Romantic Novelists Association’s New Writer’s Scheme.

Breaking into the world of publishing is no idle indulgence and I would advise anybody who wants to see their books on the high street to be prepared to work hard and only write if you cannot ignore the itch of telling a good tale, because writing is not, as some may think, the road to fame and riches, it is a hard slog and writing The End is only the beginning.
